I find myself looking at the keyboard to often when typing. I wanted to change this, because I feel that it slows me down and I often don't see the typos appearing on the screen soon enough.

Yesterday I decided to rearrange the keys on my keyboard in a way that they are no visual help any more. Fortunately this is quite easy. The keys can be pulled out with on finger. You have to be careful not to break them, but normally that won't happen. Putting a key back in is done by placing it where you want to have it and pressing it until you here a click.

I put my keys back in in alphabetical order, starting with 'A' at the top-right corner. I wonder how people will react when they see my laptop now.

I can not yet say if it keeps me from looking at the keyboard to much.

One problem that already occurred, is that the 'I' key is now exactly one step to the right from where it was before. So when I accidentally look when trying to type an 'i' I will hit the 'I' key as I see it and will and up with an 'o' on the screen.

The 'f' and 'j' keys have markings you can feel with your fingertips, to help you finding the right place to put your hand when you start to type. Obviously these are now misplaced. But I was lucky and they ended up being where 'y' and 'p' are located on a QWERTY layout. Two keys that are often involved in the typos I make and are now easier to find.
